BMP 9 <br /> <br />CONSERVATION PROGRAMS FOR COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, <br />AND INSTITUTIONAL ACCOUNTS <br /> <br />Implementation <br /> <br />Implementation shall consist of at least the following actions: <br /> <br /> a) Identify and rank commercial, industrial, and institutional customers according to use. <br /> For purposes of this BMP, commercial, industrial, and institutional customers are <br /> defined as follows: <br /> <br /> Commercial Customers: any water use that provides or distributes a product or <br /> service, such as hotels, restaurants, office buildings, commercial businesses or other <br /> places of commerce. These do not include multi-family residences, agricultural users, <br /> or customers that fall within the industrial or institutional classifications. <br /> <br /> Institutional Customers: any water-using establishment dedicated to public service. <br /> This includes schools, courts, churches, hospitals, and government facilities. All <br /> facilities serving these functions are to be considered institutions regardless of <br /> ownership. <br /> <br /> Industrial Customers: any water users that are primarily manufacturers or processors <br /> of materials as defined by the Standard Industrial Classifications (SIC) Code numbers <br /> 2000 through 3999. <br /> <br /> b) Within one year of the adoption of this BMP, the CUWCC shall establish long-term <br /> implementation targets for the replacement of high-water-using toilets with ULFTs in <br /> the CII sector. Implementation targets will be based on the findings of the CUWCC <br /> CII ULFT Water Savings Study. <br /> <br /> EITHER <br /> <br /> c) Implement a CII water-use survey and customer incentives program in accordance <br /> with the description below'. <br /> <br /> OR <br /> <br /> d) Achieve water use reductions in the CII equaling or exceeding the targets described <br /> below. <br /> <br />CII Water Use Survey and Customer Incentives Program <br /> <br /> Develop a customer targeting and marketing strategy to provide water use surveys and <br /> customer incentives to commercial, industrial, and institutional accounts. Directly <br /> contact (via letter, telephone, or personal visit) and offer water use surveys and customer <br /> incentives to at least 10% of commercial, industrial, and institutional accounts on a <br /> repeating basis.
