PRE. REC. OF SURVEY 404 On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br /> seconded by Councilman Schlueter and <br /> carried, Council approved Preliminary <br /> Record of Survey 404 filed by John <br />B. Kilroy, creating three ~4 i parcels on the north side of Castor, east <br />of Yale, subject to the c~nditions outlined in the Planning Director's <br />report dated March 18, 1965. <br /> <br />ASSESS. DIST. 225 Council considered Engineer's report <br /> that 34°69% of area is represented <br /> in a petition requesting street <br /> improvements in Assessment District <br />225, Edinger, Stanford, Greenville and other streets in the Greenville <br />Gardens area; heard City Manager's explanation that this was the fourth <br />time hardworking people had endeavored to obtain the required 60% of <br />owner's signatures; that many are absentee owners; and presented alternative <br />actions Council could take by initiating proceedings itself or postponing <br />action to the new Council, which could initiate proceedings. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gilmore, seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried~ <br />Council ordered the report filed. <br /> <br /> Y? <br />BUILDING PERMIT <br /> <br />letter from Donald R. Rochambeau, <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br /> seconded by Councilman Schlueter and <br /> carried, Council ordered referred to <br />staff for study and recommendation, <br />13742 Glmbert Lane, regarding denial of <br /> <br />building permit for property at Valencia and Buffalo. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC ISLAND Council considered requests from <br /> Bristol Gas & Oil Co., 704 N. Bristol~ <br /> and Whispering Waters Restaurant, 712 <br /> N. Bristol, for removal of painted <br />island divider between 700 and 800 N. Bristol; and that no permanent island <br />be installed in the future. Mr. Drew, representing Bristol Gas & Oil Co., <br />stated that the divider line was not only detrimental to business, but also <br />hazardous; that complaints had been made by customers and parishoners of a <br />nearby church; and since the area was commercial, the divider should be <br />removed. <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />Council referred the matter to staff for study and rec~mnendation. <br /> <br />STRm~I'NAMES On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br /> seconded by Councilman Schlueter and <br /> carried, Council referred to the <br /> Planning CGmmission for study and <br />recommendation the Orange County S~reet Naming Committee's recomendation <br />that the name Grand Avenue be officially changed to Glassell Street. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC CO~TROL <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br />seconded by Councilman Schlueter and <br />carried, Council referred to the Manager <br />for investigation and report, a letter <br />from B. Wm. Overn, 124 E.
