MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br /> ~TING OF APRIL 6, 1965 OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April 13, 1965 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by <br />Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Harry H. Harvey, James Gilmore, Henry H. <br />Schlueter and Mayor A. Allen Hall. <br /> <br />CLERK' S <br />REPORT <br /> <br />Council heard the Clerk's report <br />that the Order of Adjournment <br />had been posted as required by <br />law, and that a Certificate of <br />Posting was on file in the office <br />of the Clerk. <br /> <br />CANVASS OF <br />VOTES <br /> <br />held April 6, 1965. <br /> <br />As a result of the <br /> <br />The Mayor called for the canvassing <br />of the election returns for the <br />General Municipal Election and <br />the Special Municipal Election <br />canvass the Mayor announced that <br /> <br />the following had been elected to the Council: <br /> <br />Tom McMichael, 517 E. Buffalo <br />Wade Herrin, 1505 N. Baker <br />Davis Burk, 1902 Meriday Lane <br />J. Ogden Markel, 181k S. Parton <br />Walter Brooks, 2002 W. 15th <br /> <br />Ward I <br />Ward III <br />Ward V <br />Ward VI <br />Ward VII <br /> <br />The Mayor then announced that the incumbents, Conrad Schultz, C. R. Sturgis, <br />and Herbert Stroschein, had been re-elected to the Board of the Santa Ana <br />Unified School District. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 65-61 STATING AND DECLARING THERESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION <br />RETURNS OF THE GENEBALMUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 6TH, 1965 was read by title. It was moved by Council- <br />man Hubbard, seconded by CounciLman Schlueter, that further reading be <br />waived and Resolution 65-61 be adopted. On roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES, COUNCILMEN: <br />NOES, COUNCILMEN: <br />ABSEAWf, COUNCILMEN: <br /> <br />Hubbard, Harvey, Gilmore, Schlueter, Hall <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 65-65 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br />DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION ~S ON THE SPECIAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD APRIL 6, 1965 was read by title. It was moved by <br />Councilm-n Hubbard, seconded by Coanc~lman Schlueter, that further reading <br />be waived and Resolution 65-65 be adopted. On roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES, COUNCILMEN: <br />NOES, COUNCILMEN: <br />ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: <br /> <br />Hubbard, Harvey, Gilmore, Schlueter, Hall <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Janice Boer, 911 N. Lowell, protested that two campaign statements filed <br />by winning candidates were incorrect, and asked for a City Attorney ruling. <br />The attorney replied the correctness or incorrectness would be up to the <br />Courts, that the only requirement here is that it be filed. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL - 219 - April 13, 1965 <br /> <br /> <br />
