A� � rim, FIRST AMENDMENT TO CONSULTANT AGREEMENT THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO CONSULTANT AGREEMENT, is entered into on July 1, 2002, by and between Ron Israel (hereinafter "Consultant ") and the City of Santa Ana (hereinafter "City "). Recitals: N- 2002 -113 Ay A. The parties entered into an Agreement dated July 18, 2000, (hereinafter "said Agreement ") by which Consultant has provided counseling and instructional services to inmates housed in the Santa Ana jail. B. Said Agreement was extended for one year, to June 30, 2002, by a letter agreement. C. In accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement, the parties wish to renew said Agreement for an additional one year period, increase compensation available for services provided during the extended term and increase the hourly rate of compensation for services provided. Wherefore, in consideration of the covenants contained in said Agreement, and subject to all the terms and conditions of said Agreement, except those amended in this First Amendment to Consultant Agreement, the parties agree as follows: 1. Paragraph 2.a. COMPENSATION, shall be amended to read as follows: "City agrees to pay, and Consultant agrees to accept as total payment for its services, an hourly rate of thirty -seven dollars ($37.00) for all scheduled instructional and counseling sessions. Compensation shall be increased $10,000.00 to pay for services provided during the extended term of this Agreement. The total sum to be expended under this Agreement, shall not exceed $15,000.00 during the term of this Agreement." 2. Paragraph 3, TERM, shall be amended to read as follows: "This Agreement shall commence on July 18, 2000 and terminate on June 30, 2003, unless terminated earlier in accordance with Section 12, below. The term of this Agreement may be extended upon a writing executed by the Chief of Police and the City Attorney." 3. Except as hereinabove amended, all terms and conditions of said Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
