HARBOR DISTRICT Council comsidered the invoice for <br />STUDY research amd clerical fee submitted <br /> by ~rs. Louie Boer for study of the <br /> Orange County Harbor District. ~rs. <br />Boer, 912 N. L~well, c~mented on her reasons for submitting an invoice. She <br />was supported by c~ents from Cliff Fraizer~ 2049 S. Halladay, ~adel~v~ Cenkar~ <br />806 S. Fliatridge (who later withdrew her remarks, saying she had been mis- <br />informed), a~d Del Michael, 917 S. Toland. <br /> <br />Mayor Harvey clarified the situation by explaining that Mrs. Boe~ had never <br />before charged for amy civic undertaking, and had been requested by him to <br />seek certain ~-~ormation regardimg the Harbor District. After about a week <br />it had been agreed that certain out-of-pocket expenses would be paid, and <br />Mrs. Beer was partially reimbursed after submitting an invoice. The Mayor <br />spoke appreciatively of the many hours spent by Mrs. Beer in pursuing imfor- <br />matiom, but stated that the arrangement had been imformal. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Burk, seconded by Councilm-a Brooks amd carried, <br />Council denied payment of the claim, but authorized payment of out-of-pocket <br />expenses approved by the Mayor and City Manager. <br /> <br />Mayor Harvey formally declared that any further research for him by Mrs. Boer <br />was terminated. <br /> <br />~US. Warner, October 9, 1965, <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McMichael, <br />seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br />carried, Council-waived requirement <br />of business license fee for a <br />sponsored by the Optimist Club. <br /> <br />CROSSING PROTECTION On motion of Cotmcilmm~ McMichael, <br />FUND seconded by Councilman Brooks and <br /> carried, Council authorized the <br /> Mayor to sign request to Public <br />Utilities Ccmmmission to allocate funds from crossing protection fund to <br />reimburse the City for one-half of cost for installation of automatic lights, <br />signals and gates at Santa Fe crossing of Grand. <br /> <br />TRACT 5286 Acting on the Public Works Director's <br />BOND RkO.RASE report of satisfactory completion <br /> of improvements, on motion of <br /> Coumcilmam McNichael, seconded by <br />Coancilmmn Brooks and carried, Council authorized release of bonds for Tract <br />5286, Standard and Edinger. <br /> <br />advertising for bids for the followiB~: <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman GiLmore, <br />seconded by Councilman Markel and <br />carried, Council approved plans and <br />specifications and authorized <br /> <br />Project C-11~ - construction of median island in 17th, 300' west and east of <br />Bristol and in Bristol, 470' south and 240' north of 17th. Opening date <br />October 12, 1965. <br /> <br />Automobiles - Spec. 621-56. Opening date October 18, 1965. <br /> <br />1 Air Compressor - Spec. 623-25. Opening date October 18, 1965. <br /> <br />2 Tractors - Bahkhoe, front ~ loader units, Spec. 623-26.
