MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA~ CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />November 1, 1965 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber~ 217 N. Main <br />Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen James Gilmore~ Walter Brooks, Davis <br />Bum"k, Wade Rerrin~ g. Ogden Markel, Tom McMichael and Mayor Harry H. Harvey. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />corrected to read as follows on page 384: <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Herrin, <br />seconded by Councilman Markel and <br />carried, Council approved the <br />Minutes of October 15, 1965~ <br /> <br />PIPE LINE LICENSE On motion of CounciLman GiLmore, <br /> seconded 'by Councilman Burk and <br /> carried~ Council authorized <br /> execution of pipe line licenses <br />with Atchison~ Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad for construction across Santa Fe <br />Railroad property north of 17th of sewer line according to Print No. L-3-Z756~J <br />and of sewer and storm drain acccrdin~ to Print No. L-3-27334. <br /> <br />On Page 387: change "all members present" to "the same members present." <br /> <br />PROPERTY SALE The Mayor called for the Clerk's <br /> report of bids filed for purchase <br /> of surplus property on Adams Street <br /> east of Raitt, containing Lots 1 <br />through 19 of Tract 5856, minimum bid to be $66,500. The Clerk opened and read <br />aloud one bid~ received from Security Fore in the amount of $68~400. There <br />being no response to three calls for oral bids, the property was declared sold <br />to Security Fore in the above amount. A written statement of bid and a cashier's <br />check for $9,000 were deposited with the Clerk. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of Councilman Brooks~ <br />PROJ. 173 seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> carried~ Council ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for <br />Project 173, Edinger~ Maple to Grand, and Lyon to Ritchey; and Project C-126~ <br />Grand, north and south of Edinger; awarded the contract to C. E. Hurley at unit <br />prices; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of Councilman Gilmore, <br />BRUSH CHIPPER seconded by Councilman Brooks and <br /> carried~ Cour~cil ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for one <br />trailer mounted brush chipper, Spec. 652-10; awarded the contract to Dearth <br />Machinery Co.; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of Councilman McMichael~ <br />MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS seconded by Cotu~cilman Markel and <br /> carried, Cotu]cil ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for <br />magazine subscriptions for Library; awarded the contract to The Mayfair <br />Subscription Agency; and rejected all other bids. <br />CITY COUNCIL - 39t - November 1, 1965 <br /> <br /> <br />
