SURPLUS PROPE~qTY On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin <br /> and carried~ Council ordered <br /> filed City Manager's Surplus <br />Property Report No. 56-65 regarding building on land needed for parking <br />lot for Fire Headquarters at 213 S. Sycamore; declared the building surplus <br />and authorized its demolition. <br /> <br />VET. DAY MARCH Mayor Harvey read a telegram from <br /> Andrew Callanan, stating he <br /> plarn]ed to march from La Veta <br /> down Main Street to First Street <br />in support of service men in Viet Nam on November llth. <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Gilmore: seconded by CounciLman McMichael and carried, <br />Council ordered the telegram filed. <br /> <br /> Y <br />LICENSE WAIVE~ <br /> <br />Discussion followed reading of <br />the request of the Gemini Club <br />that license fee be waived for <br />amateur boxing exhibition to be <br />held at Laborer's Hall, 1532 E. Chestnut, and for one-day controlled beverage <br />permit. The Manager stated the one day alcoholic beverage license had been <br />a pro01em to the City. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Markel, seconded by Councilman Brooks~ that the <br />request be denied. The motion carried~ with two "No" votes. <br /> <br />DECENCY AMENDM3]NT On motion of Councilman Brooks~ <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> carried~ Council authorized the <br /> City Attorney to prepare a <br />resolution in support of the proposed Decency Amendment which would return <br />control to the local level in sex crimes~ pornographic material, etc. <br /> <br />RES. 65-172 RESOLUTION 65-172 AUTHORIZING <br />QUITCLAIM DEED ~D(ECUTION OF A QUITCLAIM DEED <br /> TO OWNERS OF RECORD was read by <br /> title. It was moved by <br />Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Markel, that further reading be <br />waived and Resolution 65-172 be adopted.
