ML%EPrES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF T~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />january 3, 1966 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to ol~ler at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 217 N. Main <br />Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen James Gilmore, Walter Brooks, Davis <br />Burk, Wade Herrin, J. Ogden Markel, Tom McMichael, and Mayor Harry N. Harvey <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gilmore, <br />seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br />carried, Council approved the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />December 20, 1965. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of Councilm-n Brooks, <br />5 AUTOS seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> carried, Council ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for <br />five autos, Spec. 621-58; awarded the contract to Monte Peters Plymouth; and <br />rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of Councilman Gilmore, <br />1 AUT0 seconded by Councilman Brooks and <br /> carried, Council ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for one <br />auto, Spec. 621-59; awarded the contract to George Dumton, Inc.; and rejected <br />all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - Council again considered bids <br />PIPE received for 8" and 12" class 150 <br /> asbestos pipe, Spec. h81-36, <br /> action on which was continued <br />from December 20, 1965. The City Manager reviewed his written report wherein <br />he stated the City Attorney had informed him the City has the right to place <br />in the specifications the requirement for American-made pipe; that such a <br />requirement was on the subject specifications; and he recnmmended the Keenan <br />Pipe & Supply Co. bid on Belgium-made pipe be declared not in conformance <br />with specifications, and that the contract be awarded to the next lowest <br />bidder in conformance with specifications. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks~ seconded by Councilman Gilmore and carried, <br />Council ordered filed the City Manager's report and tabulation of bids received; <br />awarded the contract to Certain-teed Products Corp. as the lowest bid meeting <br />specifications; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />RES. 66-1 RESOIYOTION 66-1 ADOPTING PllECISE <br />P.P.S.A. ~13 STREET ALIGNMENT OF FAIRVIEW <br /> STREET BETWEEN WAP~NER AVENUE AND <br /> THE SOUTN CITY LIMITS AS~{OWN ON <br />EXHIBIT P.P.S.A. ~13 was read by title. It was moved by Councilman Herrin, <br />seconded by Councilman Burk that further reading be waived and Resolution 66-1 <br />be adopted.
