Description of Work -in space below, describe the program to be funded dutiug the 12-month contract <br />rrriod including, services to be provided, program goals, client characteristics, &: how great finch will be.utilized. <br />Service to beprovided is the'Programa SHORTSTOP. juvenile crime diversion program: The <br />goal of the:program is to provide information on the juvenile justice 'system ,and positive <br />alternatives to criminal activities. Objectives: 1) To enroll.65 juveniles and 100 faunily members <br />from Santa Ana.in Programs Shortstop - TasldAction: work with Santa Ana PoliceDepstnent, <br />Santa Ana schools, Probation and community agencies to recruit and maintain referrals into <br />Programs Shortstop. 2) To provide two-four hour Programs. Shortstop sessions at the Central <br />Justice CMAmeach month - TasWAcdon: schedule and staff classes twice a month at the Central <br />Justice Center; Work with Court officials, instructors and instructional assistants: Process client <br />referrals, schedule families and, prepare program materials. 3) To disseminate 300 copies, of the <br />Laws for Youth booklet in Spanish to Santa Ana residents- TasktAetiun: to provide program <br />participams • schools, and community agencies with copies of j&yes Pam'Jovenes as a tool that <br />prevents crimmal involvement through education. 4) To'dissminatee,300 copies of the OCBF <br />Substance Abuse Awareness booklet in Spanish to Santa Ana residents Taek/Action: to provide <br />participants, schools, and community agencies with copies of the OCBF Substance Abuse'bookiet as'a <br />drug.preventionawareness material. <br />Clients are youth, ages 9-17 and their parents, who are residents of Santa Ana and aremoderate to very <br />low income.
