MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SA~A ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 20~ 1966 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.~ in the Council Chamber, 217 N. <br />Main Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen James Gilmore, Walter <br />Brooks, Davis Burk, Wade Herrin~ J. Ogden Markel, Tom McMichael and Mayor <br />Harry H. Harvey. Also present were City Manager Carl Jo Thornton, Assistant <br />Director of Public Works, R. Henry Mohle~ Senior PlaD~er, Stephen Lafer, <br />City Attorney John K. Colwell, and Clerk of the Council, Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MIBI~ES <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McMichael, <br />seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br />carried, the minutes of the Regular <br />MeetLug of June 6, 1966 were approved <br />as submitted. <br /> <br />ALTERNATE BUILDING Acting on a request from Cannon Electric <br />CONSTRUCTION Company to deviate from 60' fire yard <br /> requirement by alternate construction <br /> at 666 E. Dyer Road, it was moved by <br />Councilman Markel, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried, that alternate <br />construction be approved subject to installation of safety precautions listed <br />in June 14, 1966 letter from Cannon Electric and subject also to conditions <br />described in report of Director of Building Safety dated June 15, 1966. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br />PROJ. T-8 seconded by Councilman Burk and <br /> carried, Council ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for traffic <br />signals and lighting at 1st and Orange, and 17th and Spurgeon; awarded <br />contract to Steiny & Mitchell, Inco, at unit prices bid; and rejected all <br />other bids. <br /> <br />BI~ AWARD - On motion of Councilman Burk, seconded <br />PROJ. D-53 by Councilman Markel and carried, <br /> Council ordered filed report of bids <br /> received for Storm Drain in Alton Street <br />(D-3 Channel to Fairview); awarded contract to M. P. Mitrovich at unit prices <br />bid; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - On motion of CounciLman Herrin, <br />PROJ. S-40 seconded by Councilman Burk and <br /> carried, Council ordered filed <br /> report of bids received for sewer <br />in English, 15th to 17th; 17th, English to 978~ east of College, and Alona, <br />17th to 21st Street; awarded contract to M. P. Mitrovich at unit prices <br />bid; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />B~AWARD - On motion of Councilman Gilmore, seconded <br />BROADWAY TRUNK SEWER by Councilman Herrin and carried~ Cquncil <br /> ordered filed report of bids received <br /> for construction of Broadway Trunk <br />Sewer; approved award of contract to Ralph deL~on Construction~ ~c., at <br />unit prices bid; and rejected all other bids° <br />CITY COUNCIL - 547 -, June 20, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />
