RECESS <br /> <br />At 3:~0 PoMe, a five-minute recess was <br />declared, The City Council reconvened <br />at 3:~7 PoM~ with the same Council <br />m~mbers present o <br /> <br />FoCoCo PR~P~TT The City ~e~ager discussed with the City <br /> Council a notice of sVrPlus determinatioa <br />~ by the Federal Government fora portion <br />of the Federal C~unications Co~aissi~ N~intoring Station property near <br />Fairview and Earvard Streets~ notin~ that a psrtio~ had been requested ~y <br />the School District an~ a portion is being held for possible use by the <br />Federal Bureau of Prisons~ leaving only 6 to 8 acres available for distri- <br />bution at this time to a governmental agency or for sale~ <br /> <br />The Manager recommended that the City iudicat~ its wish to *btain this <br />prc~erty at a price to be negotlate~ without a commitment pri~r to the <br />1967-~ ~et~ He c~ente~ ~n the General P~ ~c~ati~s for <br />proc~e~ent of the emtire ~rope~y~ other tha~ that t~ be reta~e~ by the <br />F.C~Co ~d p~chased by the School District~ ~ich w~ld be a t~al of <br /> <br />On motion ,f Councilma~ Brooks~ secc~de~ by Councilma~ Nerrin and carried~ <br />the City Council instr~cte~ the City )~kuager to request that the City of <br />Santa Aha be considered as the primary purchaser of the pr*party at a price <br />to be negotiated but with no commitment to act until the 1967~68 ~d_get. <br /> <br />MC ~ICHAEL' S ABSENCE EXC~PSED On motion of Cou_ncilwau Nerri~ <br /> seconded by Councilman Markel and <br /> carried~ the absence of Councilman <br />Tom McMichael fro~ this meeting was excused by the City Council. <br /> <br />CITT EA'.i~ARCEIT~ECTS -f~: The City Council discussed the credit <br /> due the City frc~ the Plamuing <br /> made i~ the Civic Center by Architects <br />Ramberg an~ Lowreyo The City Naaager explaine~ that a portion of this was <br />ret~rned o~ the design of the Police Facility and ~ the design of the <br />P~lice Facility Addition and that a total credit of $~800.O0 remalmed~ <br />which was recoverable if they are employed. <br /> <br />It was m~ve4 by Couacilmau Narkel~ seconded by Councilman Brooks and <br />carriei~ that the contract to employ Ramberg and I~wrey as Architects for <br />the design of a City Hall be approved a~t that the Mayor be authorized to <br />sign the contract. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL NATTERS ~L~ ~ Vice May~Gilmore ~resented a report <br /> to the City C~cil regarding personnel <br /> matters~ with the rec~endation that <br />the Personnel B~ard conduct stu~ly of the ite~ listed and report their <br />conclusimms to the City Council. <br /> <br />~motion of Commcilmau Gilmore~ seconded by C~u~cilmanB~rka~d carried~ <br />the City Council accepted the report and requested the Personnel B~ard to <br />study the matters in it and report their conclusions as they are reache~. <br /> <br />Don Dounelly~ California State Firemen's Associatiam~ representing the <br />Santa Aha Firefighters, concurred with the portio~ of the Report that sug- <br />gested there may be a study needed with respect to better personnel <br />practices~ but asked that the City Comncil and the Personnel Board consider <br />the Firem~n on his own merit in his role in public safety of the c~unity, <br />~ivinghiman opportunity to provide information, <br /> <br />CI~f C~TNCIL -~5- October 3~ 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />
