O'Conuor, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. <br /> <br />APPEAL 182 <br />~;,~ - VA 66-65 <br /> <br />So Bristol. <br /> <br />Hearing was opened on Appeal 182, filed <br />by John Nees~ from the Planning Comm- <br />ission's denial of VA 66-65 te establish <br />retail business in R 2 District at 20B4 <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported notice of the hearing mailed to adjacent <br />proper~y owners on October 27, 1966, with certificate on file and read a <br />petition i~ opposition with 19 signatures. The applicant requested con- <br />tinnanee because two Councilmen were absent. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin, that the <br />hearing be co~inued to November 21~ 1966, 7:30 Po Mo in the CounCil Chamber. <br />The Planning Director cmmaented that sc~e persons present had already attended <br />five to six hearings on this property in the past few months. ~r. Nees <br />replied the last hearing was for change of zone and he w~-ld give dedication <br />to prevent access fr~m the cul de sac. <br /> <br />The motion to continue was adopted with Councilman McMichael voting "Nco" <br /> <br />CITY CENTER <br /> <br />an~ explained the City Center Plen. <br /> <br />Hearing was opened on Proposed Plan <br />for that portion of City known as <br />City Center. Steve Lafer presented <br />~al Winter - Downtown Santa Aha Assoc- <br /> <br />iation - presented the Association's recommendation for approval of the <br />Pla~ a~d it was ordered filed on motion of Councilm~u Brooks, seconded by <br />Cou~c~lm~n Markel and carried. <br /> <br />Sam Rue - Chairman of Chamber of C~erce Committee on Civic Center and <br />Central Business District of the General Plan-read the Chamber's resolution <br />rec~.mending approval of the Plan in principle. There being no further <br />testimony, the hearing was closed° <br /> <br />Om motion of Councilm-~ NcMlchael, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried, <br />the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution adolrhing the <br />City Center Plan for the next meeting, i~asmuch as two Councilmen were absent <br /> <br />CERISTNAS DECORATIONS On motion of Comnc~w-~ Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Narkel and <br /> carried~ the City Council approved <br />the request of Cons~er City to place decorations across First Street in <br />fre~t of 2025 W. First, subject to safety rules and standards of the PuBlic <br />Works Director. <br /> <br />SOLICITATIONS :~ On motion of Council~a~ Markel, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrim and <br /> carried, application to solicit <br />clothes, medicine and funds during the ~Bth of November by Cow~ttee for <br />Peruvian Earthquake Relief was approved as was application by United <br />Foursquare Women to hol~ Bazaar on their property at 601 W. Third, ll-18 <br />ami ll-19 · <br /> <br />GUARD S~TCE ~ On motion of Councilm~ Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Markel and <br /> carried, the application of Ace <br />Guard au~ Patrol Service for License to operate a Security Guard Service <br />with only on-the-Job ~p~av~ls (not a patrol service) was granted, subject <br />to regulations and procedures set out in the Municipal Code. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -67- <br /> <br />NoVember 7, 1~66 <br /> <br /> <br />
