Not~n~ that this ~evelc~ent is not set up strictly as an apartment, Couneil- <br />~ NcMichael cm~aented that it seemed to be a question of determining how <br />many kitchens and that ia his opinion a development with kitchens in more <br />than one-half the units vould be classifie~ as an apartment and amything with <br />lbas than e~e-half as a motel, regardless of whether the kitchens were on the <br />ground floor or not. Councilman Brooks c~ented that he would agree to the <br />re~.~en~atiou ef 50% but that the applicant could have more kitchens by cc~- <br />plying with the 25% requirement on the ground floor and have all kitchens on <br />~he seconal floor. C~umcilman Gilmore stated he would have no objection to <br />allowing the al~peal as requested, with ~B units on the ground floor with <br />kitchens an~ 23 without. <br /> <br />Answering a n-aBer of questions by Council, the Planut~g Director stated <br />that the parkt~ c~nformed to stau~-r~s for apartment units, that the size <br />of individual units was above the mt~imum establishe~ for apartments, and <br />that the only conditions not met if it were an apartment classification <br />Would ha the size of the stree~ side yard and the front yard~ amd the density <br />without private open space, which exceeds any R-3 development in Santa Ans. <br /> <br />Y% was mcve~ ~y C~uncilman ~Ark, seconded by Cou~ci~-~- Gilmore, that the <br />appeal be granted subject to the list of conditions handed to C~Ancil and <br />already submittnd to the applicant and subject to approval of the revise~ <br />plot plan by the Plauning Department. The motion was carried with Council- <br />men McHiehael and M~rkel voting NO. <br /> <br />PARCEL NAP ~ t~ ~ Parcel Map ~98 filed by Nesbitt <br /> and Jefferson creating two parcels <br /> at the northwest corner of Newhope <br />and Edinger was approved subject to conditions in P~s,~tng Director's report <br />~ated 2/2~/67 an~ alley requirement waived, on motion of Counc~ma~ Brooks, <br />seconded by Counc~m-n Herrin ~n~ carried. <br /> <br />PARCEL ~AP ~ %% ~ Parcel Map ~99 filed by Wallace <br /> and Frankel creating two parcels <br /> at the southeast corner of Santa <br />Clara and Gran~ was approved subject to conditions in Pla~nt~ Director's <br />report ~ated 2/15/67 and alley requirement waived, on motion of Councilman <br />Brooks, seconded By Ceuuc~m~- Herrin and carried. <br /> <br />PARCEL MAP 500 %~ ~ On motion of Councilman Bronks, <br /> seconded by Cou=cilman Rerrin and <br /> carrled, the City Council approve~ <br />Parcel Map ~0 filed by Shrimpton creating two parcel~ on the west side of <br />Lyon, north of E~inger subject to conditions in Plann~ Director's report <br />~ate~l 2/1~/67 and appr~ve~ waiver of alley raquireme~ if requested. <br /> <br />SOLTCTTATI~ C2 ~\ Council discussed with Dr. Stylianou <br /> the solicitation application of the <br /> ~range County Epilepsy Society for <br />permission to sell tickets thromgh May 26 for a variety show at ~anta Ana Kigh <br />School. The City Attorney notnd that the application called for 7~% of the <br />precends to be retained By the perse~ conducting the show a~ called atten- <br />ttun to the #a~cipal C~Ae Limitation of 10%. Em smggeste~ that there was a <br />possibility that i~ might not ~e interpreted as a solicitatiem amd ~r.
