· ~d'youth will take part in non-paid work experience for 10 hours a week <br /> for five weeks. Upon successful completion of the work experience, <br /> participants will receive a stipend award. <br /> <br /> · ?x0"youth, with an identified interest in Windows application learning will <br /> participate in Office Smart. Participants will develop a basic set of <br /> computer skills and knowledge that are applicable and transferable to a <br /> wide range of work experiences and will also receive a stipend upon <br /> successful completion. <br /> <br />What is the length of the program? <br /> <br />Each program component varies in length. Typicallyl '~he Job Ready component <br />concludes after six to eight weeks of training. The Career Explorers Club is an <br />eight-week program. Summer employment will continue for ten-weeks and <br />participants will perform in non-paid work experiences for five weeks. The Office <br />Smart component lasts approximately six weeks. With exception to summer <br />employment, each component will be continually provided to participants <br />throughout the year. <br /> <br />How often will the WIA participant need to attend the program? <br /> <br />How often a participant attends the program depends upon the Career Prep <br />component in which they are involved. Typically, Job Ready/Career Launch <br />participants take part in workshops two to three times each week, or at least <br />three hours a week for six to eight weeks.
