with program staff. Career Explorers Club participants will spend a minimum of <br />24 hours in instruction. Summer employment and non-paid work experience <br />participants will receive daily feedback from their supervisors. Office Smart <br />participants will work closely with program staff for at least 12 hours. Staff <br />regularly make themselves available to participants in order to provide extra <br />assistance. <br /> <br />Goals/Objectives and Performance Levels <br /> <br />How many WIA youth will the program serve this year? <br /> LOO <br />The Career Prep program will serve a total of,~'different WIA youth, ages 14- <br /> <br />18 years old throughout the year. <br /> <br />Which WIA program element will you offer? <br /> <br />The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana will offer three of the ten WIA elements. <br />These elements are: #3 - summer employment opportunities, fl4 - paid and <br />unpaid work experiences, and #6 - Leadership development opportunities. The <br />Career Prep training, including Job Ready/Career Launch, Career Explorers <br />Club, and Office Smart components are included in element #6. <br /> <br />How will service(s) be deemed necessary? <br /> <br />Services will be deemed necessary by following WIA eligibility youth profile <br />criteria. All youth recruited for the program will meet eligibility by being Iow <br />income, Santa Ana and U.S. residents, by meeting age requirements, and by <br />meeting one or more other criteria that according to WIA standards pose a <br />barrier to employment. <br /> <br /> <br />
