MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR Mm~'ING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April 11~ 1967 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 217 North <br />Main Street. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Roll Call was <br />answered by Councilmen James Gilmore, Walter Brooks, Davis Burk, Wade Herrin, <br />J. Ogden Markel, Tom McMichael and Mayor Harry H. Harvey. Also present were <br />City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William L. Mock, Director of Public <br />Works Ronald Wolford, Director of Planning Paul Van Stevens, Clerk of the Council <br />Doris M. Brown, and other department heads. <br /> <br />CLERK'S REPORT The Clerk of the Council reported that <br /> the Order of Adjolzrnment fr~ the April <br /> 1967 meeting was posted as required by <br />law with a Certificate of Posting on file. <br /> <br />CERTIFICATE OF CANVASS g ~ ~ <br /> ~ The Clerk of the Council presented to the <br />City Council a Certificate of Canvass of <br />the returns for the regular municipal <br />election held on April k, 1967, and reported the following candidates received <br />the highest number of votes for the respective offices: <br /> <br />Councilman, Ward 2 - Thomas W. Thurman <br />Councilman,. Ward 4 - Lorin Griset <br />Councilmen, Ward 6 - J. Ogden Markel <br /> <br />Member of the Board of Education (two offices open) - <br />Charlotte M. Reiter and Wilber F. Hartman <br /> <br />The Clerk reported further that Bond Propositions A, B, C, andD in the Special <br />Election consolidated with the General Municipal Election failed to receive the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of the electors voting. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 67-46 C 8 ~" RESOLUTION 67-46 STATING AND DECLARING <br /> THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION <br /> RETURNS OF THE GENERALMUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 4, 1~67, was read by title. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by CounciLman Burk~ that further <br />reading be waived and Resolution 67-46 be adopted. On roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Gilmore, Brooks, Burk, Herrin, Markel, McMichael, Harvey <br /> <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />INSTALLATION ~ ~ ~i <br /> ~ The Clerk of the Council administered the <br />Oath of Office to the newly elected Council- <br />men, Thomas W. Thurman, Lorin Griset, J. <br />Ogden Markel, and to Charlotte M.
