EXHIBIT A Scope of Work Annual Accomplishment Goal I. Number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the 12- month contract period = 97 PERSONS II. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. Services Provided: KidSingers is an award -winning, inner city 100 voice children's chorus for at -risk kids in grades 3-12. It not only provides a creative after -school musical experience and discipline, but also serves to inculcate positive life skills developing self-esteem and confidence which deters these youth from the allure of gangs and drugs. Direct services provided include September — May, Tuesday after -school rehearsals from 3:45 to 6:00pm. KidSingers is a graded choral program so that kids learn and perform with their appropriate age level. KidSingers are given the opportunity to perform at least 7 times each season at a number of diverse venues from Disneyland to Nixon Library to Edison International Field before an Anaheim Angel's game. Proeram Goals: For each KidSinger to achieve personal enrichment and academic growth in the following four areas of development: [ 1 ] music education and performance [2] academics [31 Self-esteem and confidence [41 Family unity. Development of college scholarship program is also a program goal. Two scholarships were awarded this past year to help these kids reach their dreams of college. Client charactertics and demographic information: KidSingers is comprised of youth (ages 8-18) from 34 different schools in Orange County. With a demographic of 95% Hispanic, 98% of our families have income levels near or below the poverty level and 75% are English language deficient. 40% of our enrollment are boys and 60% of our kids come from single -parent families. How Grant Funds Will Be Utilized: Funding would be used to ensure that every child who wants to participate in this program would have the opportunity. Funds go directly to program costs of program manager, providing kids with music literature, instruction, costuming, rehearsal venue and transportation costs.
