M~)TES OF THE REGULAR MInorING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFOPd~IA <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 217 <br />North Main Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen Wade Herrin, Walter <br />Brooks, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas W. Thurman and Mayor Tc~ <br />McMichael~ Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney <br />William L. Mock, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Director of Planning <br />Paul Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> carried, Minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting of Ma~ 1, 1967, were approved. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 2:05 P.M., the Council adjourned <br /> to Executive Session for approximately <br /> one hour. The Council reconvened at <br />3:00 P.M., with all Councilmen present. <br /> <br /> '~ The M~vor called for nominations for <br />COUNCIL APPOIF~ME~T ~ ~ ~o <br />the Council vacancy in Ward Five. <br />Councilman Herrin placed the name of <br />James Carlson in ncmimation. Councilman Markel placed the name of Waldo <br />Haug in nomiuation. On motion of Counci~w~ Herrin, seconded by Councilman <br />Griset and carried, the nominations were closed. <br /> <br />Ballot by roll call vote was ~ <br /> <br />For James Carlson - Councilmen Herrin, Griset, Thurman, McMichael <br /> <br />For Waldo Hau~ - Councilmen Brooks, Markel <br /> <br />Mayor McMichael declared that James Carlson had been appointe~l to fill the <br />office of Councilmu, War~ Five, an~ the Clerk was instructed to contact <br />Mr. Carlson and request that he attend the evening meeting to be installed. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINT~NCE Following the rec~en~ation of the <br /> City Manager, on motion of Councilman <br /> Eerrin, seconded by Councilman Griset <br />an~ carried, awar~ of the contract for traffic signal mainte-a~ce was held <br />over to the meeting of J~Ane 5th. <br /> <br />PROJECT D-6o Ce 2 "~ ~ On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br />.ST0~M DRAIN seconded by Councilman Markel an~ <br /> carried, Council ordered filed report <br />of bids received for Project D-62, P-1 Storm Drain in Main Street, Newport <br />Freeway to Stevens Avanue~ awarded contract at unit prices to the Iow bidder, <br />Far Western Pipeline, Inc.; and re~ected all other bids. <br /> <br />camc L -lB1- 15, 1 67 <br /> <br /> <br />
