EASTWOOD FIRE STATION SITE A letter was presented from Maurice <br /> 0' Cennor, Attorney representing op- <br /> erators of the Santa Aha Laundry at <br />llll E. 4th Street, expressing interest in acquiring fire station site en <br />Eastweed Avenue. On motion of Councilman Thurman, seconded by Councilm-~ <br />Brooks and carried, the matter was referred to the staff for reco~.,endation. <br /> <br />REIMB~RS~2~ENTS On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> carried, C~uncil authorized reimburse- <br />ment of the foll~wing for street impr~vements constructed to ultimate width <br />in exchange for dedication: <br /> <br />Ward Investment Co., $2,774.00, northwest corner of Glassell <br />Avenue and Samta Clara Avenue; <br /> <br />Tusferd Land Corporation, ;B, O00.O0, west side of Tustin <br />Avenue south of Seventeenth Street. <br /> <br />MWD RESIGNATION On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Counc~ luau Markel and <br /> carried, the letter of resignation <br />from Ao Ho Allen, Santa Ana~s representative on the Beard of Directors of <br />the Metropolitan Water District, was ordered filed; the resignation was <br />accepted with regret, subject to the resignation date becoming effective <br />at the time a replacement has been appointed by this C~uncil; and an <br />expression of appreciations was ordered. <br /> <br />Councilman Markel stated that a letter had been received from Hugh Foreman, <br />requesting that he be considered for this appointment. Councilman Brooks <br />said ample time should be given for any other applicants to submit applications <br />to be considered~ and this should be placed on Agenda for the future~ <br /> <br />SOLICITATION APPLICATIONS <br />and carried~ <br /> <br />The following solicitation applications <br />were approved Qn motion of Councilman <br />Nerrin, seconded by Counci!m~u Griset <br /> <br />(a) Our Lady of the Pillar Parish, bazaar on church lot, <br /> Saturdays, 5/28 thrQugh 7/24; <br />(b) Ernest L. Kellogg P%t 1680 VFW, poppy sale 5/26 and 27; <br />(c) American Legion Auxiliary Unit lB1, poppy sale, 5/26 & 27° <br /> <br />BUDGE~ AMENDMENT On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> carried, the request for authorization <br />to transfer $6~000.00 from Fund 51-286 to 51-268 for c~mpletion of Rosita <br />Pool was approved. <br /> <br />INTRODUCTIONS <br /> <br />Mr o Ewing and Mr. Jim McMahon. <br /> <br />C~unci!ma~Markel introduced two <br />gentlemen from Pacific Telephone <br />Company seated in the audience, <br /> <br />The City Attorney introduced Mr. Verne H.
