LSS 08~25~O3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-071 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO <br />EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department has been awarded grant funding in the <br />amount of $13,027, from the California Office of Homeland Security, <br />Critical Infrastructure Protection Reimbursement program. <br /> <br />The purpose of this program is to reimburse local law enforcement for <br />overtime expenditures used to protect the City's critical infrastructure during <br />the beginning stages of the war effort in the Middle East. <br /> <br />This grant will reimburse 100 percent of the overtime expenditures made by <br />the Police Department during the period from March 17 to April 16, 2003. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and directs <br />the City Manager and the Chief of Police or his designee to execute the grant award <br />agreement with the California Office of Homeland Security. <br /> <br /> Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the <br />City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 2nd day of September, 2003. <br /> <br />yorI A.
