<br /> 67-98 and Resolution 67-97 to detemine
<br /> public convenience and necessity of pro-
<br />posed work in Asaessment District No. 233 (street improvements on Camille,
<br />Harbor to Jackson, and on 14th, French to Poinsettia). The Clerk r~ported
<br />notice of hearing published om Ju~e 25th and July 2md in The Register, mailed
<br />to property owners on June 30th, and notice posted in area on July 3rd; and
<br />that one letter of protest had been filed fro~ Samuel Stroud. The letter of
<br />protest was read by the Clerk. Om motion of Councilman Brooks~ seconded by
<br />Cc~mcilmam Markel and carried, the communication from Mr. ~troud was ordered
<br />filed.

<br />Council received report of bids received indicating as low bidder, Sully-
<br />Miller Contracting Compamy.
<br />
<br />The Public Works Director reported on proposed work and reasons for necessity
<br />of improvement. He recommended that Mr. Stroud's protest be overruled, so
<br />that the whole block could be completed. Joseph G. Burns, 361~ W. Camille,
<br />stated that he was in:.favor of the project, but questioned the cost of com-
<br />bining the two areas. The Public Works Director explained savings in admin-
<br />istrative costs by combining. There being no further testimony, the hearing
<br />was closed.
