Approximately 100 <br /> percent of the so.ices offered will be directed toward out-of-school Latino youth who <br /> meet one or more of the eligibility criteria - basic literacy skills-deficient (below 8.0), <br /> school dropout; homeless, runaway, or foster child; pregnant or parenting; offender; has <br /> never held a job; is a court/agency referral; has a core GPA of less than 1.5; has been <br /> suspended five or more times; has been expelled; has a learning/developmental <br /> disability; and/or is monolingual. <br /> The proposed comprehensive six-month program with a 12-month follow-up will <br /> directly address several of the WIA elements - tutorin(~, leadership developme~, <br /> supportive services, adult mentoring, follow-up services, and comprehensive gumance <br /> and counseling, including ATOD counseling.
