APPEAL 194 - VA 67-63 At the September 5th Council meeting, the <br />EARCHER hearing was closed on Appeal 194, filed by <br /> Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inco from the <br />Planning C~amis$ion~s denial of Variamce 67m63 to construct restauramt in R 1 <br />District at the southwest corner of 17th and Linwoodo The mat~er was continued <br />to give Mr. Karcher an opportunity to submit different exterior an~ interior desig~So <br /> <br />Mr. Karcher presented plot plan and artist rendering showing new design of the <br />building and explained that the building would now face 17th Street~ would have <br />one additional parking stall, making 23 parking stalls, and the interior would <br />have 12 tables, seating 54. <br /> <br />Mayor NcMichael spoke in opposition on the basis of lmcompatibility with neighborhood <br />and lack of 2 lots suggested by planning Ccmmuission stu~lyo Don Christeson stated <br />there was no har~lship, as required by the Municipal Co~e, and there are 1~2 uses for <br />the property, all of which fall within C ~ zoning. Declared out of or,er, it was <br />moved by Councilman Griset to reopen the hearimg but there was no second. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Carlson, seco~ed by Couacilmam Nerriu, to overrule <br />the action of the Planning Commission and instruct the City Attorney to prepare <br />a resolution granting Variance 67-63 subject to conditions in Staff Comments <br />dated 8/14/67.
