Number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the 12-
month contract period = S!S PERSONS
II. Description of Work - in space below, describe the progam to be funded during the 12-month contract
period including, services to be provided, program goals, client chazacteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized.
The Bowers Kidseum After School Learning Center provides educational and creative activities
for low income children from grades 3-9. The students aze from the same neighborhood that the
museum is in. By providing the students classes in studio arts, music, dance and creative writing
we have seen, and recorded, a definite improvement in behavior, grades and language skills. This
program is offered to children who during the afternoon hours would either be locked up in their
apartments, or would be outside at risk of many dangerous influences, such as: gangs, drugs,
and/or bad intentioned older youth or adults. It is also our goal to prepare the children who wish
to attend the Orange County High School for the Arts for the audition process leading to
admission. This year we had. our first student enter O.C.H.S.A's middle school. We have many
expenses related to the program: materials, nutritional snacks, utilities, administrative costs,
transportation, etc. The CDBG funds will be used for instructor wages.
Schedule olPerformance
Estimate the number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served during the 12-month
contract period per quarter:
Quarter 1: July 1 -September 30 ~© .Persons
Quarter 2: October 1 -December 31 / L~ Persons
Quarter 3: January 1 - Mazch 31 < 5- Persons
Quarter 4: April 1 -June 30 /© Persons
Total ~`~' Persons
Invoicing Schedule
Estimated the amount of grant funds to be requested during the 12-month contract period on a
quarterly basis:
Quarter 1: July 1 - September30 $
Quarter 2: October 1 -December 31 $ SOpp
Quarter 3: January 1 -March 31 $
Quarter 4: April 1 -June 30 $
Total $ c~ Oc~ p
7-
- - - -
_. ----
_.._ Exhibit A - _- _ -- - --
