the followin~: <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br />by Councilman Carlson and carried, <br />authorizationwas granted to reimburse <br /> <br />Metropolitan Water District, $3,800 to cover relocation costs of <br />certain facilities on the Orange County Feeder for Project 30~, <br />~ristol between Sunflower amd Alton <br /> <br />Southern California E~laon Company, $2~998.21 to cover relocation <br />cost of transmission line for Project 201, Flower between Warner <br />and Talber~o <br /> <br />CIGARETTE TAX Council discussed proposed systems <br /> of allocation of cigarette tax, and <br /> it was moved by Councilman Brooks, <br />seconded by Councilman Griset and carried, to~efer the matter to staff <br />for report and recommendation in the best interest of the City of Santa Ama. <br /> <br />CIVIC CENTER PARKING The City Manager explained to the <br /> City Council that the Civic Center <br /> Commission has requested that the <br />Board of Supervisors and the City Council authorize the Civic Center <br />CommissiOn to use a portion of the remainder of the money lef~ from the <br />schematic plans for the Civic Center to enter into a contract with an <br />architect for the final design of parking area, inasmuch as parking <br />adjacent to the Courthouse is the next vital step in the Civic Center <br />development. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried, <br />the Civic Center Comml ssion was authorized to use whatever amount is <br />necessary of the residual balance of previously authorized monies to <br />employ architects for drawing of final design of parking area. <br /> <br />CAPITAL IMPROV~NTS The City Manager reported to the <br /> Council on the City's inability <br /> to finance a number of vital <br />physical facilities such as sewers and storm drains because of the failure <br />of the bond election. Mayor McMichael suggested he report to Council the <br />amount of money needed. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Janice Boer objected to individuals <br /> having items on Council agendm, having <br /> dinner with the Council, and questioned <br />the Mayor's recent trip to Washington° <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded By Councilm-n Griset and carried, <br />the City Council authorized Mayor McMichael~s recent trip to Washington at <br />City expense. <br /> <br />Councilman Herrin remarke~ about the lighting of the 90 foot cross atop the <br />Tower of Hope at Garden Grove Community Church which event took place this evening. <br /> <br />ADJODI~$~T <br /> <br />CITY C(~JNC IL <br /> <br />Therebeing no further business to co~ae <br />before the City Council, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 9:~0 PoMo <br /> <br />Doris M.
