MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF S~NTA ANA, CALIFOP~NIA <br /> <br />November 29, 1967 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the City Council was held jointly with the Board of <br />Supervisors of Orange County and the Civic Center Commission in the <br />Spurgeon Room of the Santa Aha Library, 502 West 8th Street, at 4:00 P.M., <br />notice having been given, with evidence on file in the office of the Clerk <br />of the Council. Members of the City Council present were: Wade Herrin, <br />Walter Brooks, James E. Carlson, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas W. <br />Thurman, and Mayor Tom McMichael. Also present were members of the Board <br />of Supervisors Baker, Herstein, Allen, Phillips; members of the Civic <br />Center Commission Larsen, Stauffer, Gladman; and members of the City and <br />County Administrative Staffs. <br /> <br />CIVIC C~ER DEVELO~4ES~ The Final Report of the Community <br /> Facilities Planners (Civic Center <br /> Plan) was presented. Mr. Thornton <br />stated that the problems yet to be resolved are the Civic Center Commission's <br />lack of control over property, division of property lines, "equities involved", <br />melding of costs and uses, et cetera; and that the solution would be amend- <br />ments to the agreement and annual budEet allocation with controls; <br />Mr. Larsen agreed with 5~. Thornton and said the Commission wants limited <br />responsibi~ities and some money for the final plans, especially for parking, <br />landscaping, and lighting; he had no recommendation on sharing the costs. <br />After some discussion, it was determined that a specific proposal for cost <br />sharing and Civic Center Cow~ission responsibilities would be prepared by <br />the City and County ~duuinistrative Staffs for the Civic Center Commission. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 P.M. <br /> <br />~yor <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL 335 <br /> <br />November 29, 1967 <br /> <br /> <br />
