MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />December 18, 1967 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2;00 PoMo in the Council Chambers, 217 North <br />Main Street with the following Councilmen present: Wade Herrin, Walter Brooks, <br />James E. Carlson, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel~Thcmas W. Thurmanand Mmyor <br />Tom NcMichael. Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, Assistant <br />City Attorney James Withers, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Planning <br />Director Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />MINUTES On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br /> by Cou/lcllm~u Brooks and carried, the <br /> City Council approved as submitted the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 4, 1967. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 2:02 P.M. the City Council adjourned <br /> to executive session for approximately <br /> 30 minutes to discuss advisory hoard <br />vacancies. The meeting reconvened at 2:30 PoMo with all Councilmen present. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL BOARD On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, the <br /> City Council appointed Rod Munro to the <br />Personnel Board to fill the office vacated by Robert Gunton for the remaining <br />term endim~ July l, 1968. <br /> <br />MUSEUM BOARD On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilman Nerrin and carried, Council <br /> 'appointed Frank Gelinas to the Bowers <br />Memorial Museum Board to fill the remaining term of Harry Chart, Jr. ending <br />July l, 1969. <br /> <br />DUMP TRUCK On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed report of bids received for <br />dump truck ~ith Over-head loader, Spec. 641-129; awarded contract to International <br />Harvester of Anaheim; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BRISTOL PROJECT 306 Council considered report of bids received <br /> for the ¢~onstruction of Bristol Street <br /> ~om Sunflc~er to Alton, am~ Project C-157, <br />Bristol, from .Hemlock Way to Warner, Charlea Swaener, attoraey~ represea-ting <br />property owners Ca!lens and Geisler, Merle Boyle, First W~stermBank, and <br />Walt Geisler protested the design of the landscape~ mediam and left tma~n <br />pocket between Smmflower and Thl~ert amd re~es~e~ltha~ tw~epeafngs im the <br />median be allowed rather than the one designed~ A length~ discmssion follOwed <br /> <br />CITY C0~NCIL 346 December 18, 1967 <br /> <br /> <br />
