MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ~ETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SA]~fA AMA, CALIFOBNIA <br /> <br />February 5, 1968 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 217 North <br />Main S~reet with the following Councilmen present: Wade Eerrln, Walter Brooks~ <br />James E. Carlson, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas %;. Thurman and Mayor <br />Tcm McMichael. Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney <br />William L. Mock, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Planning Director <br />Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />~INUTES On motion of Counci~nan Herrin, seconded <br /> by Councilman Carlson an4 carried, the <br /> City Council approved as submitted the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 15, 1968. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />boards an~ ccemnittees. <br />men present. <br /> <br /> At 2:02 P.M. the City Council adjourned to <br /> executive session for approximately one-half <br />hour to discuss vacancies on appointive <br />The Council reconvened at 2:35 P.M. with the same Council- <br /> <br />FRUIT STI%mm£TRUNX SEWERa6 ~ 6 <br /> On motion of Couacilmm~ Griset, seconded <br />by ¢ouncilmau Carlson an~ carried, the <br />City Council ordered filed report of bids <br />received for Fruit Street Trunk Sewer from Sixth and Main to 17th and Grater; <br />awarded contract at unit prices to the iow bidder, Scott Brothers Construction; <br />an~ rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />PROJECT W-~8 O~motiom of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br />I~ECOATING EL~VAT~ TANK by Councilman Markel and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed report of bids received for <br />ProJeotW-~8, recoating elevated tank at 14th and French; awarded contract at <br />unit prices to the low bidder, Spence & Sullivaa, Inc.; and rejected all other <br />bids. <br /> <br />PROJECT C-162 - FI~E TRAINING On motion cf Councilman Griset, seconded <br />CENTER & ENGINE CO. NO. 9 by Ccuncilman Brooks and carried, the <br /> City Council ordered filed report of bids <br />received for Project 0-162, Fire Training Center and Engine Ccmpamy No. 9; <br />awarded contract at unit prices to the low bidder, Lauren Construction Company; <br />and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />WAIVE READING The full reading of ordinances and reso- <br /> lutions, the titles of which appeared on <br /> the public agenda, was waived on motion <br />of Council=-- Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and uaanimously carried. <br /> <br />Cl~l~ COUNCIL 369 February 5, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
