MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TM <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March 18, 1968 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 217 North <br />Main Street with the following Councilmen.present: Wade Herrin, Walter Brooks, <br />James E. Carlson, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas W. Thurman and Mayor <br />Tom McMichael. Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney <br />William L. Mock, Director of Public Works Ronald W01ford, Planning Director <br />Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />1968, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br />by Councilman Herrin and carried, the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 4, <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 2:02 P.M. the City Council adjourned <br /> to executive session for approximately <br /> 45 minutes to discuss appointments to <br />Steering Committee for the Centennial Celebration. The Council reconvened <br />at 2:50 P.M. with all Councilmen present. <br /> <br />PROJECT C-148 On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, the <br /> City Council ordered filed report of <br />bids received for Project C-l~8, St. Gertrude Place at the Southern Pacific <br />Railroad Crossing; awarded contract at unit prices to the low bidder, <br />Industrial Contracting Company; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID CALLS On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Brooks and carried, Council <br /> approved plans and specifications and <br />authorized advertising for bids for the following: <br /> <br />Police Cars, opening 2/23/68. <br /> <br />Service Road and Walkway Paving, Prentice Park, opening 4/9/68. <br /> <br />WAIVE READING The full reading of ordinances and <br /> resolutions, the titles of which appeared <br /> on the public agenda, was waived on <br />motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Griset and ~uanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br />ORD. NS-914 - A.A. 620 01~DINANCE NS-91~ PREZONING AND ESTABLISHING <br />ROKRS DISTRICT CLASSIFICATIONS ON AMENDMENT <br /> APPLICATION NOo 620, FIL~ BY LESTER W. AND <br />FLORENCE J. ROHRS, AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP 31-4-9 (EXHIBIT AA 620 A) <br />(northwest corner of Glassell and Fairhaven) was passed ~o second reading on <br />motion of Councilm~n Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL 396 <br /> <br />March 18, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
