HIGHWAY COMMISSION POLICY California Highway Ccm~nission resolution <br />RE PARES stating~their policy on planning and <br /> design of highway projects when parks <br />are involved was referred to the staff on motion of Councilman Brooks, <br />seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried. Councilman Herrin commented <br />the same consideration should be given private property owners as is given <br />public property. <br /> <br />MEDICAL CENTER Council considered a letter from <br /> Legislative Committee, Tustin Chamber <br /> of Commerce regarding the proposed <br />Orange C(~uty Medical Center - University of California Irvine Medical <br />School affiliation. <br /> <br />A motion to follow suggestions of Tustin Chamber of C~m-.erce was withdrawn <br />by Councilman Markel with approval of Councilman Herrin who seconded the <br />motio~after considerable discussion. Paul White outlined hearing before <br />the Board of Supervisors. Councilman B~ooks noted the Council had urged <br />establishment of a medical school in Orange County. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Narkel, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, <br />that the communication be referred to the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce to <br />get their recommendation. <br /> <br />JR. COLLEGE LEGISLATION On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br /> by Councilman Markel and carried, the <br /> City Council ordered the City of Costa <br />Mesa resolution, urging support for Assembly Bill 101h authorizing Saddleback <br />Junior College District to enter into agreements with existing districts for <br />students they cannot accommodate, be referred to t he Santa Ana Junior College <br />District. <br /> <br />BRISTOL STREET ACCESS The request from John Ao Harvey, attorney <br /> for the Leonard Revocable Trust, that <br /> City open an additional point of access <br />from Bristol north of Memory Lane~ was referred to the Director of Public <br />Works for report back at the next meeting on motion of Councilman Markel, <br />seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />CURB NUMBERING On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, the <br /> City Council referred to the staff the <br />request for a special curb numbering permit from Robert O. Westley, City <br />House Numbering, to inform applicant of necessary requirements under city <br />business license. <br /> <br />TAXI OPERATOR PERMIT The communication from Gerald Farnsworth <br /> requesting a third hearing on his appeal <br /> of the Police Chief's denial of a taxi <br />operator permit was ordered filed on motion of Councilman Thurman, seconded <br />by Councilman Markel and carried. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL 420 <br /> <br />April 15, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
