STATE LEGISLATION <br />le~is lat ion. <br /> <br />Council considered Leaoue of California <br />Cities LeBislative ~lletin, dated <br />April 5, 1968, regardin~ proposed State <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried, <br />it was ordered that a letter of thanks be sent %o one legislators who voted <br />against Assembly Bill 202 ~llic~l would extend provisions of the Brown Act. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried, <br />that the City Council ~o on record as Deino opposed ~o Senate Bill 117 and any <br />other bill which would create further exemption from property %axa%ion unLil <br />alternate revenue sources are provided for city and school districts. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Carlson, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried~ <br />Council ordered an expression of opposition ~o SB h56 wnic~ would place <br />jurisdiction of cable television with the Public Utilities C~m~ission~ <br /> <br />It was moved Dy Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilnmn Berrin and carried, <br />that the City Council's opposition be expressed ~o Assembly Bills 203, 299 <br />and 678 re~arding public service collective nemotiation. <br /> <br />On motion of' Councilman Brooks~ seconded by Councilman Market and carried, <br />the City Council expressed opposition to AB 73© re~arding retirement for <br />local police and firemen. <br /> <br />Opposition to SB 411, makino mandatory preference for California-made <br />materials was expressed on motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by <br />Councilman Markel and carried. <br /> <br />The City Council took action in support of AB 499 and ACA 21 which would <br />require a two-thirds vote of City Council and a majority vote of <br />electorate to approve any lease purchase agreement, on motion of Councilman <br />Thurman, seconded by Councilman Herrin. On roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Carlson~ Markel, Thurman, McMichael <br />Brooks <br />Griset <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Thurman, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, <br />the City Council expressed its support of SB 425 regarding preemption of <br />local ordinances. <br /> <br />PARCEL MAP 547 Parcel Map 547, filed by William <br /> Io Rousey creatin~ three parcels <br /> on t he southeast corner of Progresso <br />and Euclid, was approved subject to conditions in Planning Director's <br />Report dated 4/5/68, and alley requirement waived, on motion of Councilman <br />Herrin, seconded by Councilman Carlson and carried. <br /> <br />TENTATIVE TRACT ~P 6588 Tentative Tract Map 6588~ filed by <br /> William I~ Rousey creating ~6 lots <br /> at the southeast corner of progresso <br />and Euclid, was approved suOject to conditions in Plannin~ Director's <br />Report dated 3/27/6~ on r~obion of Councilman Herrin, seconded 0y Councilman <br />Carlson and carried. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL 42~ <br /> <br />April 15, 1960 <br /> <br /> <br />
