INSURANOI NOT ON I ILI <br />WORK MAY NOT_ PROCEED <br /> CLERK OF COUNCIL <br /> DATE: <br /> <br />A-2003-107 <br /> <br />Contract No. A2003-107 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT UNDER THE WELFARE TO WORK ACT <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 2nd day of June, 2003, by and <br />between the City of Santa Aha, a charter city and municipal corporation duly organized and existing <br />under the Constitution and laws of the State of California ("CITY"), and MCS Rehabilitation, Inc. <br />("CONTRACTOR"). <br /> <br />W-I-T-N-E-S-S-E-T-H <br /> <br />Recitals: <br /> <br /> A. CITY has been designated a Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) under <br />the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Public Law 105-220 ("the Act"). <br /> <br /> B. The LWIA has been designated as the operating entity for the "Welfare to Work <br />Grant" (WTW) as defined in Title IV, Part A of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. 601-619 ("Act"). <br /> <br /> C. As an LWIA, CITY is entitled to receive federal ftmds to establish programs to <br />prepare hard-to-employ welfare recipients for entry into the labor market. <br /> <br /> D. CONTRACTOR is experienced in operating education, training and <br />employments programs for hard-to-employ welfare recipients for entry into the labor market ("said <br />program"). <br /> <br />California law. <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR is willing to operate said program pursuant to the ACT and <br /> <br /> WHEREFORE, for and in consideration of the respective and mutual covenants and <br />promises hereinafter contained and made, and subject to all the terms and conditions hereof, the parties <br />hereto do hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
