SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />For and in consideration of the hereinafter -stated payment by the CITY to <br />CONTRACTOR, CONTRACTOR agrees to perform, at its own cost and expense, the following: <br />Under the direction of the Santa Ana Public Works Agency Executive Director, <br />contractor will provide: <br />A. The collection of all unattended shopping carts from the public right-of-ways <br />and private property as directed by the CITY. CONTRACTOR is required to <br />canvas the City each day of the week and retrieve unattended shopping carts. <br />Those carts properly identified, as defined by the state law, will be returned to <br />the appropriate stores and those not properly identified shall be delivered to <br />the CITY Corporate Yard. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall provide the CITY with a toll free "hotline" phone <br />number where the CITY, residents and business owners can report unattended <br />carts. The CONTRACTOR shall respond to all calls to the "hotline" within a <br />twenty-four-- (24) hour period. <br />C. CONTRACTOR shall dedicate two drivers and two vehicles exclusively to the <br />CITY, seven days a week, eight hours a day in two staggered shifts (7:00 a.m. <br />to 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.). Holidays observed will include <br />New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, <br />Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas day. Said driver shall carry appropriate <br />identification indicating they are working under contract to the City of Santa <br />Ana. <br />D. CONTRACTOR shall provide the CITY with a weekly log of carts collected, <br />indicating cart owner, date, time, location, and the disposition of the cart. <br />This agreement shall include all the services set forth in the CONTRACTOR'S proposal <br />dated May 17, 2001. The CONTRACTORS proposal is attached hereto and incorporated herein <br />by reference. <br />P <br />
