Carlson, Lorin Griset, Jo Ogden Markel, Thomas W o Thurman, and <br />Vice Mayor Wade Eerrin. Mayor Tcm McMichael was absent, but arrived later. <br />In the absence of Mayor McMichael, Vice Mayor Herrin presided. AlsQ <br />present were Assistant City Manager Bruce Spragg, City Attorney William <br />L. Mock, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Planning Director Van <br />Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Doris Mo Brown. City Manager Carl J. <br />Thornton arrived later in the meeting. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />1968, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br />by Councilman Griset and carried, the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 20, <br /> <br />BRISTOL STR~'£ SEWER Bid award for Bristol Street Sewer, from <br /> Myrtle to Santa Clara, was continued to <br /> the June 17 meeting on motion of Council- <br />man Markel· seconded by Councilman Thurm-~ and carried. <br /> <br />ASBESTOS CE~ PIPE & FITTINGS On motion of Councilm~n Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilm, n Markel and carried, the <br />City Council ordered filed report of bids received for Spec. 371-109, Asbestos <br />Cement Pipe and Cast Iron Fittings for A. C~ Pipe; awarded contract for <br />Schedule I (Pipe) to Johns-Manville Sales Corporation, awarded contract <br />for Schedule II (Fittings) to M~Qrden Utility Supply Corporation; and <br />rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />LEGAL ADVERTISING On motion of Councilman Thurman, seconded <br /> by Councilman Griset and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed report of bids received for <br />Spec. 211-lO1, Legal Advertising July l, 1968, to June 30, 1969; awarded contrac~ <br />to The Registe~ only bid received. <br /> <br />LIBEANY BOOKSHELVES 0~ motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Carlson and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed report of bids received for <br />Spec. 6~1-132, Construction of Bookshelves at Main Library; awarded contract <br />tn Alven Pederson, only bid received. <br /> <br />VIDEO EQUIpMENT Award of contract for Spec. 6h1-133, <br /> Video Equipment for Police Department~ <br /> was continued to the June 17 meeting, <br />on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Carlson and carried. <br /> <br />CIT~ COUNCIL '~ June 3~ · 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
