SURPLUS PROPERTY The City Council considered the letter <br /> from William H. Saunders, Sr. and <br /> Claire A. Saunders submitting an offer <br />to buy the ten foot strip of land between their building at 108 N. Sycamore <br />and the new north line of First Street. The City Manager explained the <br />previous action regarding this property and recommended it be sold only at <br />the price the City paid fOr i~ plus~ costs. <br /> <br />The staff was authorized to continue negotiation with Mr. Saunders and to <br />offer the property to him for no less than the price the City paid for it, <br />plus costs, on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin <br />and carried. <br /> <br />SOLICITATION APPLICATIONS On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, the <br /> following Solicitation Applications <br />were approved: <br /> <br /> Our Lady of the Pillar Paris, Bazaar, Saturdays 6/15 through 7/20. <br /> <br />Nissions International (Christ for India), collection of discarded <br />items to sell, 6/5/68 throught 8/3/68. <br /> <br />CLAIM FOR DAMAGES The City Attorney reported that the <br /> claim againstthe City filed by Protective <br /> Association of Governmental Employees is <br />insufficient in marv instances. On moticm of Councilman Brooks, seconded by <br />Councilman Herrin and carried, the City Attorney was authOriZed to inform <br />the claimant of the insufficiency of the claim. <br /> <br />TAxICAB CERTIFICATE On motion of Councilman Carlson, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and car,-led, Council <br /> set for public hearing on July l, 1968, <br />~t 7:30 P.M. the Application of Ui.T.O., Inc. for certificate of public convenience <br />and necessity to operate ten taxicabs in the city. ' <br /> <br />LATE CLAIM Application for Leave to Present Late <br /> Claim by Edward Reid Brown, Claimant, <br /> was denied on motion of Councilman <br />Eerrin, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />ANNEXATION The request by Dunn Development, Inc. <br /> for annexation of 5 acres on the west <br /> side of Grand, north of Dyer Road, <br />was continued to the June 17th Council meeting on motion of Councilman Griset, <br />seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />June 3, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
