90.B. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Garcia <br />· Noted that he had been approached by several businesses on Harbor <br /> relative to cleaning up the boulevard and thanked staff for addressing <br /> the issues <br />· Thanked Public Works staff for working with the Newhope <br /> neighborhood relative to parking concerns <br />· Thanked the community for supporting Casa de Salud <br />· Reminded all registered voters to vote in the state election to be held <br /> on October 7, 2003. <br /> <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />· Urged residents to vote on October 7, 2003 <br />· Thanked staff for assisting in making the Fiestas de las Americas a <br /> very successful event <br />· Thanked Deputy City Manager Cindy Nelson and her Code <br /> Enforcement staff for their enforcement efforts on Harbor Boulevard <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy <br />· Reminded all residents that the October 7, 2003 election was an <br /> historic election and urged all registered voters to cast their ballots <br />· Asked the Executive Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community <br /> Services Agency to look at ways to advertise that events such as <br /> weddings and corporate parties may be held at the Santa Ana Zoo at <br /> Prentice Park; she asked that such information be included on the <br /> City's website <br />· Congratulated the Discovery Science Center on the success of their <br /> fundraiser held last weekend, and also congratulated the students <br /> from the Orange County High School of the Arts that performed at this <br /> event <br /> Noted that she attended a very good event sponsored by the Sons of <br /> Italy in honor of Columbus day; she noted that the Orange County High <br /> School of the Arts Opera program just received a $5,000 scholarship <br /> from the Italian government <br /> <br />Councilmember Bist <br />· Reported that signs have been installed in the street in the 1400 block <br /> of Borchard in order to stop traffic from going south into the road <br /> construction area on Edinger, however there are no reflectors on these <br /> signs and they are very difficult to see at night; there have alreadybeen <br /> incidents of motorists running into the signs; she asked staff to <br /> investigate this condition <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 335 OCTOBER 6, 2003 <br /> <br /> <br />
