8.2 <br /> <br />8.3 <br /> <br />8.4' <br /> <br />8.5 <br /> <br />Holidays - Shift Personnel. <br /> <br />Full-time employees whose regularly scheduled days off are other than Saturday <br />and Sunday shall be entitled to receive twelve (12) working days offduring the year <br />in lieu of the holiday benefits specified in Section 8.1 above. However, <br />employees with alternative work schedules in the Community Preservation, Police <br />Records, Detention Records and Fleet Services Divisions shall be credited with 96 <br />hours of Holiday Time at the beginning of every calendar year in lieu of twelve (12) <br />holidays in the year. If any employee in the above classification separates from <br />employment prior to December 31 of any year and has exhausted 96 hours of holiday <br />time, the value of hours not yet accrued but used shall be deducted from the final <br />paycheck. <br /> <br />Said substitute holidays may be scheduled by the Department Head or his or her <br />designee, normally during the same month that the holiday is observed by other City <br />employees. An employee entitled to time off in lieu of holidays shall receive that <br />time off in proportion to his or her service at full pay in such capacity during the <br />year. <br /> <br />Modified Holiday Schedule - Library Employees. Full-time employees assigned to the <br />Library Department shall, during the term of this Agreement, observe holidays on the dates <br />specified in Section 8.1 above. <br /> <br />A newly appointed employee must actually work at least one (1) day preceding the day a <br />holiday listed in Section 8. I, supra, actually occurs in order to receive credit for such holiday <br />during the month in which it occurs. <br /> <br />An employee separating from the service of the City must actually work at least one (1) day <br />following the day a holiday listed in Section 8.1, supra, actually occurs in order to receive <br />compensation for the holiday. <br /> <br />A newly appointed employee must complete six (6) months of continuous full-time service <br />in order to receive credit for the Floating Holiday listed in Section 1 above. <br /> <br />Holiday time offmay be only be taken in increments of eight (8) hours. Effective January <br />1, 1996, employees assigned to the 4/10 plan in the Community Preservation Division of the <br />Planning & Building Agency must use their holidays in ten (10) hour increments. Effective <br />July 1, 1998, employees assigned to the 4/10 plan in the Fleet Services Division of the <br />Finance & Management Services Agency or in the Police Records Division of the Police <br />Department must use their holidays in ten (10) hour increments. Effective April 1, 2000, <br />employees assigned to the 3/11.5, 1/5.5 plan in the Detention Records Division of the Police <br />Department must use their holidays in 11.5 hour increments. <br /> <br />34 <br /> <br /> <br />
