MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />November 4, 1968 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 9.:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 9.17 <br />North Main Street with the following Councilmen present: Wade Herrin, Walter <br />Brooks, James E. Carlson, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas I%'. <br />Thurrnan, and Mayor Tom McMichael. Also present were City Manager <br />Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William L. Mock, Director of Public ~'orks <br />Ronald Wolford, Director of Planning Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council <br />Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />MINUTES On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilman Griset and carried, the <br /> Minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />October 21, 1968~were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />PROJECT 7001 Since all bids received for Project 7001 - <br /> construction of drafting tank and apparatus <br /> pad in connection with Fire Training Center <br />and Engine company 9 were several thousand dollars over the Engineering <br />estimate, it was moved by Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Brooks <br />and carried, to reject all the bids and cancel the purchase. <br /> <br />TRACTOR LOADER <br /> <br />Council received a staff report regarding <br />award of contract on September 3, 1968, <br />to International Harvester Company for <br />Tractor Loader, Spec. 641 -134. The equipment received did not meet the <br />,specifications andthe company was unable to provide the equipment according <br />to the specifications. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried, <br />it was directed that the equipment delivered by International Harvester <br />Company not be accepted; that the contract be awarded to the next lowest <br />biddermeeting the specifications, Milo Equipment Company; and that the <br />difference in cost of $147.75 be Claimed from General Insurance Company <br />of America, the bonding company for International Harvester Company. <br /> <br />BID CALLS On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, the City <br /> COuncil approved plans and specifications <br />and authorized advertising for bids for the following: <br /> <br /> %%~ SPEC. 641-146 - One Service Type Truck Body to be mounted on 19, 500# <br /> %~G.V.W. 1/2 cab-over truck, opening 11/18~68;' <br /> z%~SPEC. 654-13 - SevenMokile Radios for Public Works, opening 11/i8; <br /> %%~SPEC. 654-}4 - Nine Mobile Radios for Police Dept., opening 11/18; <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />46 <br /> <br />November 4, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
