CLERK OF THE COUNCIL c~ ~f Mayor McMichael reported that the <br />POSITION executive session in the afternoon had <br /> been held to discuss the procedure for <br />filling the position of Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown, who has resigned, <br />effective January 31, 1959. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried, <br />the staff was directed to advertise for the position of Clerk of the Council, the <br />advertisement to be such as to make possible the competition of people from as <br />many locations as possible; the examination to be in the form of the standard <br />written test with oral interview for creation of the eligible list; and the exam- <br />ination to be administered on an open competitive basis. <br /> <br />INDUSTRIAL ZONING AREAS At the request of Councilman Markel, the <br /> staff was directed to bring back a report <br /> regarding commercial businesses <br />operating in the industrial zone, specifically mentioned was Beardsley Furniture <br />on Edinger. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 8:00 P.M., there being no further <br /> business to come before the City Council, <br /> the meeting was adjourned, on motion of <br />Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried. <br /> <br />Doris M.
