CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION Mr. Arthur Balensiefer, member of the <br /> Centennial Committee, displayed the <br /> official Centennial Seal to Council and <br />reported on the various activities that were planned for Santa Ana's Centennial <br />Year Celebration. He also requested that a letter of invitation be sent by <br />Mayor McMichael to the President of the United States,for the July 4th' <br />Centermial Celebration at the Santa Aha Bowl, and asked that the Balensiefer <br />family, as representatives of the City of Santa Ana, be named in the letter <br />to personally deliver the invitation to the President, since they will be in <br />Washington at Eastel, time. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin0 seconded by Councilman Griset and carried, <br />Council authorized Mayor McMichael to extend a letter of invitation to the <br />President of the United States for the July 4th Centennial Celebration at <br />the Santa Aha Bowl. <br /> <br />STORM DAMAGE <br /> <br />Additional films on t~ storm damage at <br />Santiago Creek were shown at this time. <br /> <br />BOWERS MUSEUM Council discussed a letter received from <br /> members of the Museum Board dated <br /> February 19, 1969 regarding a Christmas <br />art display at the museum in December, 1969, and the City Attorney's opinion <br />regarding legality of a museum exhibit based on a religious theme. The <br />newly appointed liaison members of the Council to the Museum Board, <br />Councilmen Brooks and Thurman, stated they would meet with the Museum <br />Board and report back for the next' Council meeting. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 9:15 P.M. the City Council adjourned <br /> to Executive Session for approximately <br /> 15 minutes to discuss pending litigation. <br />The Council reconvened in the Council Chambers at 9:30 P. M., with all <br />Councilmen present. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />of Councilman Herrin, <br /> <br /> At 9:30 P.M., there being no further <br /> business to come before the Council, <br /> the meeting was adjourned, on motion <br />seconded by Councilman Carlson and carried. <br /> <br />Maxine B.
