Assembly Bill 61 - On motion of C0u~Ci!~n Brooks, seconded by Councilman <br />Thurman and carried, staff was authorized to send a letter to our State <br />Assemblyman, stating the City Council's opposition to Assembly Bill 61, <br />regarding topless operationS, as an infringement on home rule, <br /> <br />Assembly Bill 239 - The City Attorney was directed to write a letter to our <br />State Assemblyman expressing the City Council's position of opposing A.B. 239. <br /> <br />At 4:10 P.M. Councilman Carlson left the meeting. <br /> <br />Senate Bill 208 - On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman <br />Markel and carried, staff was authorized to send a letter to our State Senator <br />expressing the City Council's opposition to S. B. 208 regarding liability for <br />injurie s. <br /> <br />PRIVATE PATROL SERVICE On motion of Councilman Thurman, seconded <br /> by Councilman Brooks and carried, Council <br /> approved, subject to the provisions of the <br />Municipal Code, the following applications for private patrol service in the City <br />of Santa Aha: <br /> <br />Newton Security Patrol, Inc., 512 Heartwell Building, Long Beach 90802; <br /> <br />International City Security, 6265 East Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach. <br /> <br />RECESS At 4:15 P.M., the meeting was recessed <br /> to 7:30 P.M., at which time it was <br /> reconvened with all Council members <br />present. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />delivered by the Reverend Myron Gerton, South Santa Ana Church of Christ. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT APPLICATION 639 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Hearing was opened on Amendment <br />Application 639, filed by the Planning <br />Commission, to amend Sectional District <br />Map 32-4:9 by rezoning property on the <br /> <br />no~ side of Fairhaven, approximately 105 feet west of Greengrove from the <br />A 1 to the,,,R 1 District. There being no response to the call for testimony, the <br />hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin, to approve <br />Amendment Application 639 and instruct the City Attorney to prepare an <br />ordinance to,classify the property according to Exhibit A. The motion was <br />passed on th~ following roll call vote: <br /> <br /> AYES: Herrin, Brooks, Carlson, Griset, Thurman, McMichael <br /> NOES: Markel <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />156 March 17, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
