MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA~ CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April 7, 1969 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 217 <br />North Main Street with the following Councilmen present: Wade Heri'in, <br />Walter Brooks, Lorin Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas W. Thurman <br />and Mayor Tom McMichael. Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, <br />City Attorney William L. Mock, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, <br />Director of Planning Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />March 17, <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br /> by Councilman Griset and carried, the <br /> Minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />1969, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />RESIGNATION A letter from James E. Carlson submitting <br />COUNCILMAN CARLSON his resignation, effective March 27, 1969, <br /> as a member of the City Council from Ward <br />Five/~vas presented. Councilman Carlson's resignation was accepted with regret, <br />on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />Janice Boer, 912 N. Lowell, questioned the residency of Councilman Carlson at <br />the time of the March 17th Council meeting, stating her opinion that he had <br />moved before that date and had voted illegally at the March ITth meeting. The <br />City Attorney stated his opinion that there had been no illegal voting by Council- <br />man Carlson, based upon the fact that residence is domicile and domicile is <br />largely controlled by intent. <br /> <br />It was moved bY Councihnan Brooks, seconded by Councilman Griset and <br />carried, to accept the CitY Attorney's decision in this matter. <br /> <br />SPEC~ 641-152 On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br />SEWER CLEANER seconded by Councilman Griset and <br /> carried, Council ordered filed report <br />of bids received for One 'High Pressure Sewer Cleaner, Spec 641-152; <br />awarded contract to the low bidder, Sanitary Hydraulics, Inc.; and rejected <br />all other bids. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />160 April 7, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
