TRAFFIC SIGNAL REQUEST - PACIFIC AND WARNER (continued) <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized Mr. Gary Tucker, 2062 South Rene, who stated that there <br />was a controlled intersection at Bristol, only a block away; that another signal at <br />Pacific would tie up traffic; and that a market was being constructed south of %Yarner <br />that would eliminate the necessity of crossing the intersection for grocery shopping <br />purposes. <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />At 10:10 P.M., a three minute recess <br />was declared. The Council reconvened <br />at 10:15 P.M. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Hearing was opened on Amendment Appli- <br />AMENDMENT APPLICATION 645 cation 645, initiated by the Planning <br />PLANNING COMMISSION Commission, to amend Sectional District <br /> Map 12-5-10 by reclassifying residentially- <br />zoned property north of Eighth Street, east of Flower, south of Seventeenth and <br />west of Main as follows: north of Washington from the R 2 and R 3 Districts to <br />the R 3H District, and south of Washington from the R 2, R 3 and R 3H Districts <br />to the P District. <br /> <br />The Planning Director reported that the rezonlng was in accordance With the adopted <br />Master Plan; that it was part of a series of rezonings in the center part of the City <br />to make it conform to the Master Plan. <br /> <br />There being no response to the call for testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Patterson, to approve <br />Amendment Application 645 and to instruct the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance <br />reclassifying the property according to Exhibit A. The motion was passed on the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Brooks, Patterson, Thurman, Villa, Griset <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />Due to a conflict of interest on the next item, Councilman Thurman excused himself <br />from the Council Chamber. <br /> <br />PUB LIC HEARING <br />APPEAL 222 ' VA 69-24 <br />BELL - WHINERY <br /> <br />Hearing was continued from the meeting <br />of May 19, in accordance with the appli- <br />cant' s reques~. <br /> <br />The Planning Director stated that his staff had informed him that the applicant had <br />a new set of plans; that if that were the case, it would not be legal for the Council <br />to conduct its hearing prior to submission of the plans and a hearing before the <br />Plannlng Commission. <br /> <br />It was moved by CoUncilrnan Villa, seconded by Councilman He'rrin and Carried, to <br />refer the matter to Planning Commission for a public hearing and to waive the <br />required Variance fee on the submission of new plans by the applicant. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />- ~33 - <br /> <br />..June 2, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
