DISASTER SERVICES ~: ::~l~e appointment of Dr. Ernest E. Ainslie <br />APPOINTMENT as Assistant City Medical Director for <br /> Disaster Services purposes was approved <br />and confirmed, on motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman <br />Brooks and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />VELVET KNIGHTS The Vice Mayor recognized Mr. Wayne <br />FLAG DESIGN Edwards, representing the Velvet Knights <br /> Drum and Bugle Corps, who distributed <br />four designs for a City Flag to be carried by the Corps. It was the consensus <br />of the Council that the designof the sun rising over Saddieback Mountain should <br />be used for the flag design. Vice Mayor Herrin stated that because he opposed <br />the spending of public funds for such purpose but very much favored this type <br />of youth activity, he would consider it a privilege to personally provide the <br />Corps with its flag. <br /> <br />Councilman Villa requested that the Staff investigate the possibilities of entering <br />the "Velvet Knights" in the New Year's Day Pasadena l~ose Parade. <br /> <br />BRISTOL - SANTA CLARA The report from the Citizen-Government <br />CROSSING GUARD Advisory Committee for Traffic Safety <br /> recommending retention of crossing <br />guard at intersection of Bristol and Santa Clara was ordered filed, on motion of <br />Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Villa and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />HELIOTROPE CUL-DE-SAC The Council consi'dered the Planning <br /> Commission recommendation for approval <br /> of an agreement 'between the residents of <br />North Heliotrope Drive and the City for furnishing engineering drawings for <br />construction of a cul-de-sac north of 17th Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Brooks and <br />unanimously carried, the Staff was instructed to develop the agreement for <br />Council approval. <br /> <br />BOARD AND COMMISSION The following named persons were <br />APPOINTMENTS appointed to the respective Board or <br /> Commi~sien- for the term indicated, <br />on motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Patterson and un- <br />animously carried: <br /> <br />APPOINTEE <br /> <br />BOARD OR COMMISSION <br /> <br />TERM OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Allan Fainbarg <br /> <br />Vehicle Parking District #1 July 1, 1969 ~ J~u~e 30, 1972 <br /> <br />Mrs. Eaton MacKay <br /> <br />Recreation and Parks <br /> <br />June 16, 1969 -June 30, 1971 <br />(Unexpired term of Dolores <br /> Duckett) <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />- 245 - June 16, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
