<br />Spec #03- 027 <br /> <br />1.0 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />l.l <br /> <br />Definitions: The following words as used in this RFP shall be understood to refer <br />respectively to: <br /> <br />Word in RFP <br /> <br />Definition <br /> <br />"City" <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana, California <br /> <br />"Police Department" <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department <br /> <br />"RFP" <br /> <br />Request for Proposal <br /> <br />"Proposer" <br /> <br />The person, firm or corporation who is responding to this <br />Request for Proposal and with whom the agreement is <br /> <br />made by said City and the agent, or legal representative, <br />who may be appointed to represent such person, firm or <br />corporation in the signing and performance of said <br /> <br />agreement. <br /> <br />1.2 <br /> <br />Description of Organization: The Santa Ana Police Department and Jail Facility opened <br />in January 1997. The police facility is 240,000 square feet and the Jail is 160,000 square <br />feet. The Police Department and Jail are 24-hour, 7 day a week operations. Over 700 <br /> <br />employees work out of this state-of-the-art facility, which deals with daily normal police <br /> <br />business, sensitive security issues, VIP tours, community oriented policing and many <br /> <br />other law enforcement responsibilities. It is necessary to insure this facility maintains its <br />high standards as a safe and healthy workplace, as well as sustains a continued superior <br />professional appearance. Therefore, it is critical that the furnishings, fixtures and <br />equipment be thoroughly cleaned in a quality manner and on a regular basis by the best <br />possible janitorial maintenance organization. <br /> <br />1.3 <br /> <br />Purpose: The purpose of this RFP is to generate proposals for janitorial maintenance <br />services that are required for those designated portions of the Santa Ana Police <br /> <br />Department, Jail Facility and grounds.
