EXHIBIT A <br />PROPOSED SCOPE OF SERVICES — TELEVISION INSPECTION OF SANITARY SEWERS <br />The purpose of this proposal is to obtain a qualified firm to provide sewer video taping services. <br />This project continues the video inventory of the city's sewer infrastructure. The majority of the <br />work will consist of videotaping and cleaning individual sewer mains on an as needed basis. <br />However, some of the work will also include the videotaping and cleaning of blocks of sewer <br />mains (approximately 3,000 to 7,000 linear feet. <br />The sizes of the lines to be videotaped vary from 4" up to 24" in diameter. The majority of the <br />work will be performed on mains in the 6" through 12" range with more than 50% of the total <br />work being 6". <br />A. SEWER CLEANING: <br />All sewers shall be cleaned within 24 hours prior to videotaping except as directed <br />otherwise by the Engineer. Cleaning shall include removal of grease, roots, debris and <br />other obstructions to facilitate the T.V. inspection. <br />Consultant shall use the appropriate nozzle or cutter head, (e.g. high velocity, water jet, root <br />cutter, etc.), to accomplish the cleaning as required for that particular reach of sewer. <br />Cleaning methods shall be employed to sufficiently clean the pipe so the camera can pass <br />and can fully ascertain and document the structural and operational condition of the pipe. <br />Any costs associated with videotape work that is necessitated by the consultant's failure to <br />sufficiently clean the main shall be borne entirely by the consultant. <br />The consultant shall use a maintenance report form supplied by the City to record the <br />location of the cleaning operation, the number of feet cleaned and the conditions <br />encountered for each section of sewer main that is cleaned. The maintenance reports shall <br />be delivered along with the video, logs and other materials when a designated area of work <br />has been completed. <br />B. TELEVISION INSPECTION: <br />The consultant shall visually inspect, videotape (VHS format) and/or digitally encode <br />(in WMV format), and provide both written and computerized logs of all inspected <br />sewers. The log and video formats shall be approved by the City prior to <br />commencement of work. <br />2. The consultant shall use equipment specially designed and constructed for sewer <br />inspection and televising. The camera must have light sources of suitable <br />illumination output to provide a clear picture of the entire periphery of pipe.
