MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />September 2, 1969 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 Po M., in the First Assembly of <br />God Church, 500 West Sixth Street, with the following Councilmen present: <br />Wade Herrin, Walter Brooks, Vernon S. Evans, J. Ogden Markel, Jerry <br />M. Patterson, Ray Villa~ and Mayor Lorin Griset. Also present were <br />Assistant City Manager Bruce Spragg, Assistant City Attorney James <br />Withers, Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Director of Planning <br />Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />MINUTES On motion of Councilman Villa, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and unanimously <br /> carried, the Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />of August 18, 1969, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 2:02 P. M., the City Council adjourned <br /> to Executive Session for approximately <br /> one-half hour to consider appointment to <br />the Planning Commission to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of <br />Vernon S. Evans to the City Council. Mrs. Janice Boer requested the City <br />Council to consider appointment of a woman to the Planning Commission. <br />The Council reconvened at 2:48 P. M., with the same Council members <br />present. <br /> <br />Mr. Waldo Haug, 827 North Westwood Avenue, was appointed as a member <br />of the Planning Commission for the term expiring June 30, 1970, on motion <br />of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Brooks, on the following <br />roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Brooks, Evans, Markel, Patterson, Villa, Griset <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Mayor Griset announced that Council would hold an Executive Session at the <br />September 15 Council meeting to consider replacement for Mr. Ilaug on the <br />Personnel Board; that Council would like as many persons as possible to make <br />themselves available for the opening on the Personnel Board; that persons <br />interested should contact the Clerk's office or a Councilman to make appli- <br />cation; and that interviews would be held at the Executive Session on Sep- <br />tember 15. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -307- September 2~ 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
