Exhibit A <br />Prepared for the <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board <br />Please answer each question as concisely as possible <br />About the Program <br />Executive Summary <br />Which WIA population will the program recruit and serve? <br />The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana (Club) will provide the Career Prep program . <br />to in- school youth between the ages of 14 -1 B. In addition, program participants <br />will be identified as legal U.S. Santa Ana City residents and from families with <br />low annual incomes. <br />Indicate how many participants to be served. <br />The program will serve a minimum of 120 youth. <br />Indicate which of the 10 WIA elements the program will address. <br />The Career Prep program will provide youth with three of the ten WIA elements. <br />These elements are: #3 (summer employment opportunities), #4 (paid and <br />unpaid work experiences), and #6 (leadership development opportunities.) <br />Indicate planned outcomes. <br />120 youth ages 14-18 will be tested in ascertaining Basic Skill Levels <br />using current TABE materials and standards. <br />• 20 youth will participate in summer employment for ten weeks. <br />• 40 youth will successfully complete unpaid work experience for five <br />weeks. <br />
