circumstances by providing services that build the skills, civility, and self - <br />confidence necessary to succeed in a competitive world. <br />Indicate what the program will accomplish. <br />The Career Prep program is made up of several components, designed to <br />provide age- appropriate, needs -based employment and career training. The <br />program will accomplish the following: <br />• A minimum of 8, youth ages 16 -18 will successfully complete the Job <br />Ready pre - employment training. Youth will acquire skills and knowledge <br />for entry-level employment in 11 specific competency areas (please see <br />attachment F) identified by the Department of Labor as critical to <br />employment success. At the same time, they will develop appropriate job <br />attitudes and behaviors while establishing specific steps and actions <br />towards career goals. In addition, participants will be provided with Career <br />Launch, an added piece of the Job Ready program that promotes <br />computer -based learning and exploration. <br />�J <br />• A minimum of 90 youth ages 14 -15 will successfully complete Career <br />Explorers Club, designed to help young teens explore key occupational <br />areas, assess their own interests and abilities, and develop tentative <br />occupational plans. <br />O <br />• k(youth will be placed in subsidized summer employment for 20 hours a <br />week for 10 weeks. <br />
