How will recruitment be coordinated with program activities? <br />Since the Club began providing Career Prep in 1998, effective recruitment has <br />been critical to success and has resulted in the participation of 375 youth. <br />Recruitment will continue to be critical to the success of both the Career Prep <br />program and the overall Youth Service Provider Network. Recruitment will be <br />continuous throughout the program. An Outreach Worker will be hired and <br />trained to work closely with the Program Managers of the Career Prep program. <br />The Outreach Worker will regularly communicate to the Program Manager <br />relevant issues concerning outreach initiatives so that the program may eliminate <br />any barriers to youth participatio For exam , if the Outreach Worker were to <br />gather ten high school students who qualify for the program from Valley High <br />School, efforts would begin to gain access to Valley in order to provide Career <br />Prep to the participants at their school, thus eliminating a potential transportation <br />barrier. Additionally, the Outreach Worker will communicate regularly with other <br />WIA service providers. If a youth is recruited to participate in the Career Prep <br />program and the next program cycle does not begin for a few weeks, the <br />Outreach Worker would work with other service providers in order to begin <br />delivering WIA services to that youth. <br />How will current services meet the needs of the WIA performance <br />standards? <br />The Career Prep program will help to meet the needs of the WIA performance <br />standards by providing career exploration, pre- employment training and paid and <br />unpaid work experiences that will directly reduce participants' barriers to <br />
